50 Paid Subscribers! Thank you!

Just a quick note today to share that this newsletter has just hit 50 paid subscribers!

When I decided to shut down my Patreon, I was incredibly nervous about starting from scratch. Even though I had been unhappy with the platform for a long time, I had come to rely on the security of having monthly support from patrons in order to make my creative life go. I was an early adopter and had been using it for years. It was really, really scary to walk away from “guaranteed” income and start over with a platform that felt more intuitive and had more of the features I wanted.

It’s been a few months since I paused billing over there (at midnight tonight I’m permanently closing it) and while growth here has been slow, it’s been happening! I’m about a quarter of the way toward the money I was making from Patreon memberships and, considering how long that took me to build - and how much I had to build back after lots of (justified, understandable) pledge cancellations in 2020 - I consider this a huge win.

There are a lot of big things coming in my creative life & career and it is genuinely made possible by you. I say that a lot, I hope it’s not too cheeseball, but I mean it.

A real newsletter is coming next week with actual info, announcements, etc. but this update and tiny celebration (you know how I feel about tiny celebrations) felt important to share with the ones who made it happen.
